Born in Macclesfield I now reside in the Lake District. We recently moved here just before the lock down in March. Myself and partner Sharon had a gallery in Hayfield called Lomas & Lomas. After an amazing 5 years in Hayfield, we decided to chase our dream of living in the Lake District.
Upon leaving school I worked in the advertising industry as a print buyer for many large blue chip clients. In 2005, myself & wife Sharon opened a mix media gallery space in the Northern Quarter, Manchester which was open for 3 years.
I then launched my print business Big Exposure Print which still runs today.
I work with many artists & photographers to reproduce their work, such as Clare Allan and Andrew Brooks. I also supply many different forms of print items to local businesses and larger groups such as the National Trust.
I am a self-taught photographer, first picking up the camera in 2003. Initially I was more focused on wildlife photography, mainly birds. Working in Manchester at that time, I also used to photograph the area and then after leaving Manchester, I started making my way over to the Peak District and landscape photography became my main subject.
I launched my initial website back in 2013 as a result of receiving enquiries for purchases of my photography. Since we opened the gallery in 2015 the sales of my photography had been overwhelming. Being a rather modest person, I didn’t expect it. The feedback is very rewarding and love to hear how happy people are with their purchases and some even go to the trouble of sending me a picture of them in situ. As we had many tourists visiting Hayfield and the gallery, I have received orders from people all over the world. I have shipped canvases to Australia, America, South Africa & Italy.
